CARPENTRY LICENSING IN NEW SOUTH WALES

NSW Fair Trading provides all licensing for builders and tradespeople that carry out work in the building and construction industry in New South Wales.

In order to apply for a NSW contractor licence in carpentry, you must have the required qualification.

QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

If you have carpentry-related industry experience, Master Builders can help get your skills, knowledge and experience recognised.

Upon successful completion of any of our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathways to CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry, you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification which you can use to apply for your contractor licence in carpentry.

 

DELIVERY 

Master Builders offers two (2) RPL pathway programs:

Onsite RPL

The Onsite RPL program involves a Master Builders Assessor visiting you at your worksite to conduct practical assessments while you perform carpentry-related tasks. This process includes structured assessments of your skills, knowledge and experience, as well as guidance for you to gather and compile a portfolio of evidence required to demonstrate competency in CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry.

Assessment Workshop

The Assessment Workshop program requires you to attend workshops held at the Master Builders Education Centre in Baulkham Hills where practical assessments will be conducted while you perform carpentry-related tasks. A Master Builders Assessor will provide guidance for you to gather and compile a portfolio of evidence required to demonstrate competency in CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry.

DURATION

Onsite RPL

You will have a six (6) month period in which to complete this onsite RPL program. 

Assessment Workshop

You will undertake assessment by attending three (3) workshops across five (5) days (over an approximate six-week period). Refer to course schedule below.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Onsite RPL

Master Builders applies the following entry requirements:

  • You have a minimum of three years full-time (or equivalent) carpentry-related experience in the construction industry (experience must be within the last 10 years)
  • You have a valid White Card (general construction induction card)
  • You are currently working on active construction projects
  • You are able to provide details of two (2) referees that can confirm your work history / experience (Referees must be a qualified / licenced tradesperson in carpentry that has worked with you for 12 months or more)
  • You are able to answer at least 80% of the technical industry questions correctly during your application process 

Assessment Workshop

Master Builders applies the following entry requirements:

FEES 

This training may be subsidised by NSW Government under Smart and Skilled. The following eligibility criteria applies for this subsidy:

  • You are 15 years or older
  • You are no longer attending school
  • You live or work in NSW
  • You are an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen

If you are eligible for the government subsidy, your student fee will be determined by NSW Government.

A general guide to fees for this training is as follows:

If you do not hold a previous qualification from $1,495*
If you do hold a previous qualification from $1,790*
If you are not eligible for the NSW Government subsidy $2,200 (members) / $2,400 (non-members) 

Master Builders can only offer Smart and Skilled places for Sydney, Newcastle and Central West residents. This subsidised training is strictly limited and is subject to eligibility criteria. For the best chance to access to this subsidy, apply now!

Payment of a $1,000 enrolment fee is required upon enrolment, and remaining fees are due one month after course commencement. All participant fees are GST exempt. Upon successful enrolment, Master Builders will confirm your fee for this training.

*This training is subsidised by NSW Government, eligibility criteria applies. Master Builders (RTO 6163) is responsible for the quality and delivery of this course, and will be the RTO issuing the certification to eligible participants.
