Carpentry Licensing in New South Wales

NSW Fair Trading provides all licensing for builders and tradespeople that carry out work in the building and construction industry in New South Wales.

In order to apply for a NSW Contractor Licence in Carpentry, you must have the required qualification.

Qualification Description

If you have carpentry-related industry experience, Master Builders can help you get your skills, knowledge and experience recognised.

Upon successful completion of our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway to CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry, you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification which you can use to apply for your Contractor Licence in Carpentry.

Delivery and Duration

Delivery

This RPL pathway program involves structured assessments of your skills, knowledge and experience, as well as guidance to collect a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate full competency in the CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry. You will be required to attend practical based workshops at the Master Builders Education Centre in Baulkham Hills, Sydney, NSW, to be assessed.

Duration

You will undertake assessment by attending three modules on five days (over a six-week period), refer to course schedule below.

Entry Requirements

Master Builders applies the following entry requirements:

  • Minimum of three years full-time (or equivalent) carpentry-related experience in the construction industry
  • Valid White Card (general construction induction card)

As this program is subsidised by the NSW Government Smart and Skilled initiative, fees can only be confirmed once we have received your application. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You live or work in NSW
  • You are an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen
  • You are no longer attending school

Fees 

This program is subsidised by the NSW Government Smart and Skilled initiative.

Once we have received your application, Master Builders will obtain an estimated fee from the NSW Government and provide a quote prior to your enrolment. A general guide to fees for this qualification pathway is as follows:

If you do not hold a previous qualification from $1,495
If you do hold a previous qualification from $1,790

Payment of a $1,000 enrolment fee (ex GST) is required upon enrolment, and remaining fees are due one month after program commencement.

According to the Standards for RTOs 2015, at no stage will Master Builders charge more than $1,500 prior to course commencement.
