Your pathway to a Builder’s Licence

Master Builders CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) qualification is designed to enable potential builders and others in the industry to improve their building and construction project management and business management skills.

The course will also formally recognise skills already gained through on-the-job building and construction project management experience through a process called Recognition of Prior Learning. 

Upon successful completion of either of these programs, you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in CPC40110 Certificate IV Building and Construction (Building).

DELIVERY OPTIONS

Master Builders offers two delivery options for this qualification:

In Class Training and Assessment 

This program is delivered in seven (7) modules over 21 classroom days. During the program you will be assessed on structured knowledge questions, written project based tasks and your performance of practical tasks.

DURATION

This program is delivered over 21 classroom days. You will be required to attend all classes and complete all assessments within 12 months of your first class.

Onsite Recognition of Prior Learning  -  RPL

This Onsite RPL program involves the demonstration and assessment of your skills, knowledge and experience. The RPL process involves a Master Builders Assessor visiting you at your worksite to conduct practical assessments while you perform construction project management tasks.

During the program, you will also be assessed on structured knowledge questions and receive guidance to gather and compile a portfolio of evidence required to demonstrate competency in CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building).

DURATION

You will have a six (6) month period in which to complete this Onsite RPL program.

COURSE SCHEDULE

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Master Builders applies the following entry requirements:

• You have a minimum of three (3) years full-time (minimum five years for onsite RPL program) or equivalent experience in the building and construction industry (experience must be within the last ten (10) years)
• You have a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in the building and construction industry
• You have a valid White Card (general construction induction card)
• You are currently working on active projects
• You hold a current Contractor’s Licence OR are able to provide the details of two (2) referees that have worked with you for 12 months or more and can confirm your work history / experience (Referees must be a current licenced builder, construction manager or site foreman
• You are able to answer at least 65% (at least 80% for onsite RPL)  of the technical industry questions correctly during your application process

FEES

These programs may be subsidised by NSW Government under Smart and Skilled. The following eligibility criteria applies for this subsidy:

• You are 15 years or older
• You are no longer attending school
• You live or work in NSW
• You are an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen

If you are eligible for the government subsidy, your student fee will be determined by NSW Government.

A general guide to fees for this course is as follows:

If you do not hold a previous qualification from - from $2,440*	If you do not hold a previous qualification -  from $1,240*
If you do hold a previous qualification from  - from $2,850*	If you do hold a previous qualification -  from $1,450*
If you are not eligible for the NSW Government subsidy – $3,950 (members) / $4,250 (non-members)	If you are not eligible for the NSW Government subsidy – $3,500 (members) / $3,850 (non-members)

Master Builders can only offer Smart and Skilled places for those who live and/or work in the Sydney Metropolitan area and the Newcastle region. This subsidised training is strictly limited and is subject to eligibility criteria. For the best chance to access to this subsidy, apply now!

Payment of a $1,000.00 enrolment fee is required upon enrolment, and remaining fees are due one month after commencement of the program. All participant fees are GST exempt. Upon successful enrolment, Master Builders will confirm your fee for this course.
